Antalya, in Turkey, is a halal-friendly destination.

Where to pray in Antalya

Antalya has many mosques, including Yivliminare Mosque with its fluted Seljuk minaret, the old town's landmark. Prayer rooms in shopping centres and at the airport. The practical point specific to this city: in the coastal resort complexes a prayer space is not guaranteed — that is a question to ask before booking, not after.

Prayer times for Antalya are computed in the city's own time zone, and the Qibla direction reads from your position. On the ground, “Around me” ranks prayer places from nearest to farthest.

Where to eat halal in Antalya

Antalya is the Turkish exception, and it should be said plainly: meat is not a problem, alcohol is. The city lives on beach tourism and much of its hotel trade runs on all-inclusive packages with open bars and mixed beaches — which has nothing to do with the Turkish restaurants of the centre and of Kaleiçi, the old town, where you eat as anywhere in Turkey. Some venues present themselves as suited to Muslim families; we recommend none without verification, but be aware the question arises here and nowhere else in the country.

Here are addresses recorded in Antalya. Halal status is shown as verified or reported depending on the source — never announced as certified.
