Izmir has many mosques, including Hisar Mosque inside the Kemeraltı bazaar, the largest in the old town, and Konak Mosque on the square of the same name. Finding a place to pray takes no effort; it is the city's general atmosphere that differs from the rest of the country, not the provision.

For food, the Turkish logic still holds — pork is absent from the ordinary food chain and everyday restaurants are suitable. Aegean cooking also leans heavily on fish, vegetables and olive oil, which makes things simpler still. The Kemeraltı bazaar is the best ground for it.
