The bad news first: classic Haribo sweets sold in the UK, France and most of Europe (Goldbears, Starmix, Tangfastics…) contain pork gelatine. They are not halal.

The good news: Haribo operates a factory in Turkey producing fully halal ranges made with certified beef gelatine. You will find them in Muslim grocery stores and online, with the halal logo printed on the packet.

The reflex: check the packet. “Made in Turkey” plus a halal logo means you are fine. Plain “gelatine” on a European packet almost always means pork. Plenty of dedicated halal sweet brands offer the same classics too.
